SHOWCASE: SETTING PERSONALIZATION FOR STAR MAP ON LOVE KNOT MESSAGE CARD

In this article, Dastomize will show you how to personalize Star Map for ShineOn's Love Knot Message Card from scratch, the result will be like the demo product link below:
https://woo.dastomize.com/products/custom-valentine-gifts-star-map-constellation-necklace-under-this-sky-it-all-began-love-knot-pedant-necklace/

STEP 1: Sync properties of Attributes and Categories. (Optional)

Go to menu Integrations > Online Store. Then click the store's three-dot icon to select Actions > Edit.
On the Edit Store page, go to Tab Attributes and Tab Category. Then click the Sync button to synchronize all attributes and categories.
You should take the step of resynchronizing Attributes and Categories, to ensure that Dastomize App has fully received your store's information.

STEP 2: Import the product into Dastomize.

Normally, Dastomize will automatically sync the products from WooCommerce to the App.
If you don't see the product displayed in the All Products menu, just click the Refresh button icon. Or you can import the product with its product ID number.

STEP 3: Select Product Type in the Design Define page.

You must first create and choose a Product Type so that later, when you create a Background Mockup with that product type, App Dastomize can recognize the product and sync your design to the mockup.
We have 2 ways to create a product type: Create in the menu Product > Product Types or create it directly while in the Define Design page. Please review the details HERE
On the Define Design page, select the appropriate product type (Message Card Necklace). The length and width of the design will be automatically applied according to the selected product type.

The square area inside the red line: You can arrange the important details of the design inside this safe zone, to make sure your design will be printed in the right place on each product.

STEP 5: Add and adjust the Artwork/Text/Mask/Clipart/Frame elements (if any) to the design.

5.1: Add artwork and select the Set Full Screen Image option.

5.2: Add a star-shaped mask to the design.

Then resize the mask to fit the transparent area in the design. You can easily adjust the mask by clicking and dragging the blue dots in the 4 corners.

5.3: Rearrange the order of the Mask layers and choose a Mask type.

You can see in this design that the personalized star map area must be inside the white outline. (Mask should not overlap the white border as shown in the first image below).
So let's drag and drop the layer icon "Star Mask" to the correct position below the Artwork layer in the Layers section, in order to send the Mask to the back. We will get the result as shown in the right picture:

In the Layers section, click on the "Star Map" layer's icon to open its Layers Options section. Then set the Mask Type to Star Map.

5.4: Adjust the Child Text Layer: Location

5.4.1: Turn on the eye icon to show the Location child layer. Then, move the Location text box to the correct position.
5.4.2: Select Type: Short Text.
5.4.3: In the Label section:
- Enter a name for the Label as "Location".
- Enter "Texas" in the text field.
5.4.4: In the Font section:
- Choose a font size of 60.
- Choose the Font: Bebas.
- In this design, the text is already white by default, so we don't need to choose the text color again.
- Select the Right Align button.

5.5: Adjust the Child Text Layer: Date & Time

5.5.1: Turn on the eye icon to show the Date & Time child layer. Then, move the Date & Time text box to the correct position.
5.5.2: Select Date & Time Format as "7th June 2022".
5.5.3: Select Type: Short Text.
5.5.4: In the Label section:
- Enter a name for the Label as "Date & Time".
- Enter "7th June 2022" in the text field.
5.5.5: In the Font section:
- Choose a font size of 60.
- Choose the Font: Bebas.
- In this design, the text is already white by default, so we don't need to choose the font color again.
- Select the Left Align button.

STEP 6: Preview & Save

Click the Save button to save all the changes you have made. Then, click the Preview button to check if all product's personalization settings are correct.

In the Preview interface, you can test the personalization features as a real customer (Except for the Add To Cart step).

STEP 7: Turn on the Personalize button and select the Preview Style Setting option.

After saving the customizing options in step 6, return to the Edit Product page. In the "PERSONALIZATION SETTINGS" box, please do the following:
Enable the Personalized option. (Allow this product to be personalized on the live store)
Select Preview Style Settings: Popup Preview / Direct Preview from the drop-down menu.

STEP 8: Connect Fulfillment and Variant.

On the same Edit Product page, please do the following:
8.1: Connect ShineOn Fulfillment:
In the Connect Fulfillment section on the left, click the Connect Fulfillment button and select the ShineOn products tab.
Find "Love Knot Necklace w/ POD MC" in this collection.
Click to choose then hit Save Changes.

8.2: Match Product Variants:
In the Variants section, click the Auto Match Variants button to have App Dastomize automatically link the respective SKU and variant of ShineOn.
Or you can manually select a ShineOn variant in the "Select a variant to match" box.

When the matching is completed, we will see the system display the Variants Fulfillment column as shown below:

STEP 9: Background Mockup

After completing the above steps to personalize the Love Knot Message Card, customers can already place orders on your live store. However, in order to make the product look more appealing, we will use Dastomize's Background Mockup feature.

To create a mockup as shown below, we need 2 elements:
Element 1: Product design templates.
Element 2: Create your own mockup or use one from ShineOn's mockup repository.

After completing the preceding eight steps, we have element 1. The following steps will show you how to design the second element and combine the two into a completed mockup.
9.1 Element 2 - Create an Unfilled Mockup File.

9.1.1: Create/Download mockup files.

If the seller has their own design team, they are free to create their own mockup.
Please note that the mockup files must leave the printing area unfilled (have a transparent printing area) in order for App Dastomize to fill in the seller's personalized design.
However, for small teams without designers, we can totally use ShineOn's mockup repository and edit it as needed.
The Mockup is available on the ShineOn website at: https://shineon.canto.com/. On ShineOn's Canto website, navigate to Library > Public Seller Repository > Product Photos > Love Knot > Mockups. Then, find and download the appropriate mockup template.

Mockup files similar to this tutorial can be found HERE.

Refer to Shineonmaster.vn to learn how to use it.

Please keep in mind that Dastomize Mockup Studio currently only allows rendering angular mockups directly into the product. Slope/diagonal mockups will be available in future updates.

The downloaded file will be formatted as ".psd" so that the seller can easily edit it. Open the file in the Photoshop application and perform the following steps to get the unfilled mockup (the mockup has been adjusted to transparent the design areas).

9.1.2: In Photoshop, locate and select the layer as shown below. HIDE the picture layer below the necklace layer by clicking the eye symbol.

After hiding the layer this will be the result of the Mockup file.

9.1.3: Select Save as Mockup file as .png to finish creating an unfilled Mockup image file for the Background Mockup Step (Step 9.3).

9.2 Create a new Mockup group in the Mockup Studio menu

9.2.1: Navigate to App Dastomize > Products > Mockup Studio. Then click the +Create new button.

9.2.2: Enter a name for the mockup product in the Name field and then choose the Product Type.

Note: In this step, you must first create the Product Type of the product. Learn how to create Product Types in: Create & Edit Product Types

9.2.3: Click Create to finish creating the Mockup group for this product.

9.3: Create Background Mockup

After creating the group, click it to start editing the Background Mockup.
In the Mockup creation interface, click the + Add Style button.

9.3.1: In the Style field, click the arrow to expand your Style selections. In this step, the App will retrieve data from WooCommerce > Products > Attributes, which you previously set in your WooCommerce Store.

9.3.2: (Optional based on different products' kinds) Similarly, in the Color section, click the drop-down and select the product's Color Attribute.

9.3.3: Click +Upload to upload the empty Mockup image prepared in 9.1.

9.3.4: Select Effective to display the uploaded image on the screen.

9.3.5: (Optional) Click the Save button to avoid losing the image.

9.3.6: Click the Add Print Area option to add the print area to the Mockup; this print area will be used to display your personalized design.

After adding the print area, drag and drop the print area to fit the transparent area.

9.3.7: Move the print area layer behind the Mockup image by clicking the green arrow button on the right (to push the printed area forward, click the arrow button on the left).

9.3.8: Click Save to finish creating the Background Mockup.

9.4: Add Background Mockup to the product.

Navigate to menu Products > All Products > Find the product you want to add Background Mockup.
On the Product page, enable the Background Mockup option (Optional: turn on the Show Preview Image With Background Mockup option) as shown in the image to finish adding the newly created Mockup to the product.

Note: In order for the Background Mockup to function, this product must have the same matched Product Type as the one specified in the Background Mockup menu (so that App Dastomize can identify the product and adjust the design properly.)

When you enable this button, customers will be able to see the Background Mockup while personalizing their product on live store, rather than only seeing the design template.

BONUS:

In step 9, if you are unable to make the transparent area of a Mockup, we can use a combination of 1 Mockup file (jewelry box without the Love Knot necklace) and 1 Frame (the necklace image) to get a similar result.

Instructions for creating a Frame (Love Knot pendant image).
To export the Frame (the pendant) of the message card like the third element in the picture above, please follow the steps:
Step 1: In the Photoshop application and open the ShineOn ".psd" mockup file format.
Step 2: Once the file has been opened, HIDE ALL LAYERS EXCEPT the pendant layer, as shown below.

Step 3: Next select Save as Mockup file as ".png" to obtain the pendant frame for Preview purposes in Define Design.

More information on Frame and how to use it may be found here: Define Design: Frames

Create Background Mockup (Similar to step 9.3).
Note: DO NOT perform step 9.3.7. Because you need to put the print area layer in front of the Mockup image.

Then, insert the Frame that you just made during the Define Design process.
The mockup (jewelry box without the Love Knot pendant) and frame (the pendant) will then result in the below outcome, which is exactly as the other way.
