UPLOAD MASK


You have two ways to upload Masks:
Upload in your Resources Menu

Upload directly in Define Design:
Hit the Mask button to open Mask Library.


Step 1: Switch the button to enable mask uploading function.
Step 2: Drag and drop the content to the uploading area, or Click on that area.
Step 3: If you clicked on the uploading area, then select file(s) from your computer.
Step 4: Click Open to upload.

Wait until the upload process is completed and the new mask(s) will show up in the Mask Library.

Although you upload a mask in Define Design, it still appears in your Resources Menu > Masks and you can manage or delete it there.
If you have already used Clipart when defining a design, you CANNOT use in combination with Mask.

INSERT MASK


From the pop-up Mask Library window, select a Mask then click Choose. You can insert multiple masks to one design.


Adjust the size and position of the added mask to match your design layout.


You can change the background color in the Setting Options section from transparent background to a solid color, such as Gray. It will help the preview to be more visible when defining a mask in Dastomize app and on the live store.

Rearrange the Photo Mask layer: In the Layers Section, hold and drag the arrows button to the correct position.

Normally, a Mask will be placed under the Artwork layer for better outcome. (Mask won't overlap any part of the artwork, unless you intended to do so.)
Currently, Masks are only available with Popup Preview option and cannot be adjusted in Reorder Fields.

SELECT TYPE OF MASK


Step 1: After you inserted a mask to your design, click on the mask's area or click the image of the mask's layer in Layers section to open its Layers Options section.
Step 2: Select the Mask Type by choosing one option the dropdown list: Photo, Map and Star Map.


Each type of mask has a different way to be defined. Let's move on to the mask defining instruction parts below.

DEFINE PHOTO MASK


Photo mask allows customer to upload their own photo(s) and personalize the product on the live store.

How to define Photo Mask:
- Select Mask color: By default, mask area is in black. However, you can modify this by choosing any color in Mask color option. Setting a colorful mask area can help the customer easily notice the photo area on the design.

- Click the SAVE button in the bottom-left corner of the screen to apply changes.

Preview Photo Mask:
Click the PREVIEW button in the bottom-left corner of the screen to open product preview in Dastomize.
This interface demonstrates exactly what happens on your live store when the customer clicks the Personalize button.
Step 1: Click on the frame area to open Upload Photos section. Or you can find the arrow of My Photo section to open it.
Step 2: Click Upload Photos then select file(s) from your computer.
Step 3: Click either the photo or Autofill button to insert the photo to the design.
Step 4: Edit the photo in Edit Photo section: You will have options to zoom in (+), zoom out (-), rotate and flip the photo.
Step 5: Click Done Editing to finish customizing the photo mask.

Photos are accepted with format: .jpeg, .jpg and .png. Maximum size: 20 MB.

DEFINE STREET MAP MASK


Street map mask allows customer to display any special location, honor a favorite city or any place at an important moment.

How to set Street Map Default Preview:
Click on the Map Mask icon in Layers section to open its Layers Options section.
In Map Default Preview section:
Edit the map with Zoom in (+), Zoom out (-) and Rotate options.
In put your preview text for Your Special Location.
Choose a pin for preview.
Choose a map style for preview.
Click Apply Map. Then, the default preview is set.


How to define Street Map Mask:
There is one child layer "Location" under the parent Street Map Mask layer:
- Click on the eye icon to turn on/ turn off the Location text box.
- Click on the child layer's area or click the T icon in Layers section to open its Layers Options section:
Type: Select Short Text or Long Text from the dropdown list.
Enable Required button if the customer is required to enter a text.
Label field:
"Location": this is the name of the text field that is shown on the live store.
"Select place": this is the example of the field's content that is shown on the live store. You can enter some values to give an example, such as city name: BOSTON, MA or SAN JOSE, CA ... Then, the preview text will show up on the initial design.
Font Size: adjust the size of text.
Current Font: Select one from My Fonts or Google Fonts dropdown list. Below are full options to modify the text.
Text Background Color: Choose a color to highlight your text if needed.
Stroke Color & Stroke Width: Outline the whole text.
Click the SAVE button in the bottom-left corner of the screen to apply changes.


Preview Street Map Mask:
Click the PREVIEW button in the bottom-left corner of the screen.
Step 1: Click on the frame area to open Edit Map section.
Step 2: Input your location.
Step 3: Choose a pin.
Step 4: Choose a style of map.
Step 5: Click Apply Mask to save the information of your street map mask.
Step 6: On the preview image from step 5, click on any Text area to open Edit Text section. Make changes if necessary.
For example: If the Location synced from step 2 is too long, we can make it shorter as San Jose, CA.
Step 7: Click Preview Text to finish customizing the street map mask.


DEFINE STAR MAP MASK


Star map mask allows customer to arrange the stars and night sky in a noteworthy moment of their life on a specific date and location.

How to define Star Map Mask:

Set up Location, Date & Time, Coordinates:


They are the child layers and sticked to the parent Star Map Mask layer.
- Click on the eye icon to turn on/ turn off these elements.
- Click on the child layer's area or click the T icon in Layers section to open its Layers Options section:
Type: Select Short Text or Long Text from the dropdown list.
Enable Required button if the customer is required to enter a text.
Label field:
"Location": this is the name of field that is shown on the live store.
"Select place": this is a suggestion of the text field's content that is shown on the live store. You can enter some values to give an example, such as:
City name: BOSTON, MA or SAN JOSE, CA ...
Date: 11/03/2022
Coordinates: 42.3605°N, -71.0596°W
Then, the preview text will show up on the design.
Font Size: adjust the size of text.
Current Font: Select one from My Fonts or Google Fonts dropdown list. Below are full options to modify the text.
Text Background Color: Choose a color to highlight your text if needed.

Click the SAVE button in the bottom-left corner of the screen to apply changes.

Date & Time Format: Select a format from the dropdown list.

If you don't set the child layer as "required", the customer can leave it blank. Then, the text on the design will be synced with the information of customer's star map.

Preview Star Map Mask:
Click the PREVIEW button in the bottom-left corner of the screen.
Step 1: Click on the frame area to open Edit Star Map section.
Step 2: Input your special place. You can try a specific address, a city or country.
Step 3: Input your special date & time.
Step 4: Choose a Star Map Element. You can select multiple options.
Step 5: Choose a Star Map Color.
Step 6: Latitude and Longitude are automatically generated from your input place in step 1.
Step 7: Click Apply Star Map to save the information of your star map mask.

Step 8: On the preview image from step 7, click on any Text area to open Edit Text section. Make changes if necessary.
For example: If the Location synced from step 2 is too long, we can make it shorter as San Jose, CA.
Step 9: Click Preview Text to finish customizing the star map mask.


COMBINE DIFFERENT TYPES OF MASKS


You can combine different mask types or add multiple masks to arrange a unique design. Let's see some products applying this way:
